apply101 seems great, but how is it different than The Common Application?

Great question (and thank you)!

We are big fans of The Common Application at apply101. It is a great tool for college admissions help to apply to a ton of colleges with one, standard application. Check them out, they are great!

Having said that, there are four main differences between apply101 and the Common Application:

  1. You use the Common Application to apply to colleges but does not assist with the most common student question: how to apply for college?. apply101, on the other hand, is a college admissions assistance tool that helps you keep track of and manage everything you have to do to apply to and pay for college. This can include things like college app deadlines, financial aid and scholarship information, tasks assigned to you by your high school counselor, or task you create for yourself.
  2. The Common Application currently only supports 600 of the 3000 colleges and universities in the United States. At apply101 we do our best to gather information on all colleges (with some exceptions)
  3. With apply101, you can set up reminders to your phone or email when things are due. You can also share your account with your parents, teachers, counselors or mentors. This helps you stay on track.
  4. We have adorable animal GIFs. Nuff said.

For the best college application experience we encourage you to use apply101 as a complement to the work you aredoing on the Common Application.
